Shipping Label Pouches Explained

Label pouches can protect documents and labels when tape or direct labels are not the best fit.

When pouches help

A label pouch can hold a label, packing slip, customs document, return form, or other paperwork on the outside of a package. Pouches are especially useful when a label needs protection from moisture or when documents must travel with the shipment.

When direct labels may be simpler

For ordinary boxes and mailers, a direct thermal or sheet label may be simpler. Use a pouch when the package type, document need, or weather risk makes it worthwhile.

Planning questions

  • Does the carrier require forms or documents?
  • Will the label stay flat and scannable?
  • Will the pouch fit the package surface?
  • Does the pouch add unnecessary cost to low-risk shipments?
