Assume some exposure
Many packages spend at least some time outside, near a door, in a mailbox area, on a porch, or in a delivery room. The seller cannot control every delivery condition, but the packaging can reduce the chance that ordinary weather becomes a customer-service issue.
Products that need more thought
- Books, prints, paperwork, stickers, labels, and paper products.
- Clothing or fabric that should arrive clean and dry.
- Electronics or items with moisture-sensitive packaging.
- Products where presentation matters.
Cost versus risk
Weather protection costs money and may add material. The decision should be based on refund risk, product value, customer expectations, and likely delivery conditions.
